Honest diagnosis
If the cylinder is enough, we say so. If not, we propose specific locks with a clear material price.
When the problem isn’t the key but the mechanism —or you want to raise your door’s locking level— we replace the full lock: faceplate, latch, locking points and cylinder.
Door specialists
Many clients ask for a lock change when a cylinder change would do, which is faster and cheaper. The first thing we do is say so: if your lock works fine and you only want to void old keys, we don’t sell you a lock.
A full replacement applies when the mechanism fails or when you want to improve the closing: more anchoring points, a security lock for a reinforced door, or a modern lock on a door with an old mechanism and no spares.
If the cylinder is enough, we say so. If not, we propose specific locks with a clear material price.
We look for a lock compatible with your door’s machining to avoid extra carpentry.
Replacement, closing adjustment on the frame and a full test. The door ends up closing better than before.
The mortise lock sits inside the door leaf (usual on entrances); the rim lock is mounted on the inner face and often added as reinforcement. We recommend based on your door and your goal.
Mostly down to the materials: a basic lock isn’t a multipoint security one. Ranges at lock replacement cost.
No: reinforced doors use specific locks. We work with the usual brands and, if your model is special, we source it. See also security locks.
